The story of Corkscrew

Nagashima Spa Land opened Corkscrew on July 2, 1978, bringing Arrow Dynamics steel and its two twisting inversions to the park’s growing collection of great machines. coaster.cloud· coasterpedia.net

The design is a compact piece of engineering: a chain lift raises the train, and the 390-metre course gathers its drama into a double corkscrew before returning visitors to the station. coasterpedia.net· nagashima-onsen.co.jp

In late 2011, the ride was taken down and carefully reinstalled in another part of Nagashima Spa Land in early 2012, preserving a well-known Arrow design for another generation of visitors. coasterpedia.net

Today, Corkscrew continues to operate as one of Nagashima Spa Land’s established steel coasters, its unmistakable pair of inversions still defining the short, purposeful journey. coaster.cloud· nagashima-onsen.co.jp
