The story of Do-Dodonpa

Fuji-Q Highland renewed its earlier Dodonpa for the 2017 season, reopening the attraction under the new name Do-Dodonpa. The park presented the renewal as a fresh chapter for its celebrated launch coaster. fujiq.jp· prtimes.jp

The undertaking came from S&S’s Air Launch Coaster tradition, using compressed air to send the train away from the station with remarkable force. It was an engineering choice well suited to Fuji-Q Highland’s broad grounds at the foot of Mount Fuji. s-s.com· prtimes.jp

The renewal altered the ride’s principal landmark, replacing the former top-hat element with a great vertical loop. Rising forty-nine metres above the park, the loop gave Do-Dodonpa its single inversion and a new outline against the mountain country. coasterpedia.net· prtimes.jp
