The story of Eejanaika

Fuji-Q Highland announced Eejanaika as a new kind of coaster, with seats that could rotate while the train travelled forwards or backwards. The project took approximately five years from conception to completion. fujikyu.co.jp

The construction represented an investment of approximately 3.6 billion yen, greater than the reported cost of Fuji-Q Highland’s earlier Fujiyama and Dodonpa coasters. Eejanaika opened to visitors on July 19, 2006. fujikyu.co.jp· prtimes.jp

The design placed riders outside the rails, with no floor beneath their feet, and combined course inversions with controlled seat rotation. At its opening, the fourteen total rider revolutions were recognised as a Guinness World Record. fujikyu.co.jp· prtimes.jp

By May 2016, Fuji-Q reported that Eejanaika was approaching its six-millionth passenger, a notable chapter in the ride’s first decade above the park. prtimes.jp
