The story of Canyon Blaster

When the indoor park opened in 1993 under its original Grand Slam Canyon name, Canyon Blaster opened with it. For a visitor stepping in from Las Vegas Boulevard, the promise was unusual and rather splendid: a full Arrow looping coaster kept under glass in the Nevada desert. coasterpedia.net· ktnv.com

Arrow Dynamics supplied the steel work for the ride, and Coasterpedia records it as a Custom Looping Coaster. Its track and supports were engineered by Ride Centerline, an achievement fitted into a building rather than spread across an open hillside. coasterpedia.net

The course begins with a chain climb to ninety-four feet, then sends the train through paired loops, a double corkscrew, tunnels, and a helix within the artificial mountain. It is a compact Nevada procession, with the machinery and canyon scenery sharing the same enclosed room. coasterpedia.net

The ride remains part of Adventuredome’s present coaster line-up at Circus Circus. The park’s own page still presents Canyon Blaster as an indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew coaster beneath the dome, keeping one of the resort’s original grand gestures in service for today’s traveller. circuscircus.com· coasterpedia.net
