Coins & Packs

coins first, cash optional

thoozie runs on coins. Here's exactly how you earn them, what they buy, and — because we'd rather over-explain this than let anyone assume otherwise — the only two things real money can buy. Everything in the game can be reached for free.

How you earn coins

  • Melting duplicates. A second copy of a card you already own converts to coins at a fixed, published rate — better tiers and shiny cards melt for more. The current rates:
TierNormal copyShiny copy
common5 coins40 coins
uncommon15 coins100 coins
rare50 coins300 coins
epic150 coins800 coins
legendary500 coins2500 coins

Melt rates are set centrally and may be re-tuned as the economy grows — the table above always reflects the live rate, the same way /odds always reflects the live pull rates.

  • Completing an album page. Filling every slot on a page pays out a coin reward on top of the Quest Pack you're granted for finishing it — the album funds the next pack, it isn't just a display case.
  • Completing a whole set. Finish every page in a set and you're paid a one-off 5,000-coin bonus on top of every page reward already banked along the way.
  • A daily claim streak. Keep Today's Card going and you're paid a one-off milestone bonus at 7 days (150 coins), 30 days (600 coins), 100 days (2,000 coins).
  • Duels. A duel against a thoosie, live or over 24 hours, pays 75 coins for a win, 40 for a draw and 15 for a loss, for the first 5 each day. A practice win against the house pays 25 coins, for the first 3 wins a day. Duels never cost or pay out cards.
  • Daily jobs and the daily puzzle. Each small daily job pays 40 coins, and the daily puzzle pays up to 50.
  • Bringing a friend. Invite a friend and they get a free pack of 12 real roller coaster cards. You get a pack too when they open it, for your first 48 friends. Your 4th, 8th, 16th and 24th friends also pay 500, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 coins.

The free daily card

One free card waits on the pack shelf every day — Today's Card, no coins required. It doesn't stack or roll over: miss a day and that day's card is simply gone (FastPass saves missed cards for a few days — see below).

The coin shop

Coins also buy a few extras that never touch a duel or a pull: daily-card envelopes, card backs and frames at 1,500 coins each, and a streak freeze at 300 coins, which covers one missed day so your streak survives it. Every one of them is coins only.

What real money buys

Two things, on the web and in the iOS app, and nothing else. Packs are never sold for cash. The first is coins, at these tiers:

CoinsPrice
450£0.99
2,500£4.99
5,500£9.99
12,000£19.99

Bought coins buy packs at exactly the prices above — there is no separate, worse "cash" price. The second is FastPass, a subscription (£3.99/month or £29.99/year, with a 7-day free trial): 3 daily cards instead of 1, 2,000 coins a month, missed cards save for 3 days, and a streak freeze each month. Same odds as everyone. It doesn't touch the odds on this page or unlock anything a free player can't also reach. Coins bought or paid by FastPass are still coins: they never cash out, same as earned ones — see below. Purchases are for accounts declared 18 and over, and aren't offered in Belgium.

Coins never cash out

This is the line thoozie is built around: coins are earned in play, spent in play, and never converted to real money, transferred outside the game, or resold. It's what keeps this a game and not a gambling product, and it's why the whole economy is documented on this page rather than left to be discovered. Full odds table: /odds. The complete list of promises this rests on: The Collector's Promise.
