The story of Wild Eagle
Plans for Dollywood’s 2012 attraction entered the Pigeon Forge planning process in March 2011. Preparatory ground work followed in May, with B&M track beginning to appear at the park in June. coasterpedia.net· coaster101.com
Dollywood announced Wild Eagle on September 4, 2011, presenting it as the first Wing Coaster in the United States. Its four-abreast, cantilevered seating placed passengers beside the track, with open air above and below. coaster101.com
By early November, installation of the 3,127-foot track had been completed. The completed design was described as rising twenty-one stories above the Wilderness Pass area, with four inversions and a 135-foot first drop. coaster101.com
