The story of Pipeline: The Surf Coaster

SeaWorld Orlando announced Pipeline as the world’s first Surf Coaster, introducing a new Bolliger & Mabillard model to the park’s Florida skyline. The design places visitors in a standing surf position, with seats that rise and fall along the course. seaworld.com· bolliger-mabillard.com

The attraction was assembled beside the park’s entrance area, where blue track and white supports gradually took shape through the construction season. Its arrival added a seventh roller coaster to SeaWorld Orlando. higherlogicdownload.s3.amazonaws.com· coasterpedia.net

Pipeline opened to the public in 2023 after an earlier period of access for SeaWorld Orlando annual passholders. It became the first installation of Bolliger & Mabillard’s Surf Coaster model. coasterpedia.net· amusementtoday.com

The finished ride gave SeaWorld Orlando a distinctly Floridian landmark: a steel course that launches, twists and turns while asking its passengers to travel upright, as though crossing a succession of moving waves. seaworld.com· bolliger-mabillard.com
