The story of GateKeeper
Cedar Point selected Bolliger & Mabillard to create a Wing Coaster unlike anything previously placed at the park. Its suspended seats carry visitors beside the rail, giving the train a broad, graceful passage over the beach and toward the entrance. prnewswire.com· bolliger-mabillard.com
Construction reshaped the front of Cedar Point as well as the ride itself. Crews worked through rain, snow, and freezing weather, joining the final section of track and closing the great circuit ahead of schedule. prnewswire.com
GateKeeper opened on May 11, 2013, as part of Cedar Point’s new season. From the beach, the train climbs to 51.8 metres before turning toward the two keyhole towers at the main entrance. prnewswire.com· sixflags.com
The completed project represented a thirty-million-dollar investment in the ride and the entrance plaza, placing a piece of Swiss engineering over the very threshold through which Cedar Point’s visitors arrive. prnewswire.com
