The story of Vortex
Vortex began its life in 1997 at Jerudong Park in Brunei, where Vekoma built a custom Suspended Looping Coaster for an unusual site. The ride was later moved to Siam Park City in Bangkok and given its present name. parkvault.net· coasterpedia.net
The design drew upon Vekoma’s Extended SLC elements, but their arrangement was altered for the ground available at Jerudong Park. The result was a broader, less usual layout than the standard installation. parkvault.net
At Siam Park City, the steel track was reassembled as an inverted coaster among the park’s rides, with its chain lift leading into a course of five inversions and a long, sweeping return to the station. coasterpedia.net
The Bangkok installation remains a distinctive chapter in the history of Vekoma’s Suspended Looping Coaster, carrying a design first made for Brunei into a new home in Thailand. parkvault.net· coasterpedia.net
