The story of Looping Star
Schwarzkopf introduced the Looping Star model in 1978 as a travelling steel looping coaster. Its design used a cone-plug system, allowing sections of track to be joined with fewer supports and making construction and dismantling more manageable. coasterpedia.net
The Nagashima Spa Land installation followed in 1982, joining the park’s earlier Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop as part of a notable German-built chapter in the resort’s coaster history. coasterpedia.net· coasterpedia.net
At Nagashima, the train climbs above the park before descending into the vertical loop and a sequence of twisting turns. The official park description records a 24.5-metre height and a course of approximately 590 metres. nagashima-onsen.co.jp
More than four decades after its opening, Looping Star remains in service at Nagashima Spa Land, where its compact steel layout continues to pass through the park’s summer afternoons with the measured character of a classic amusement ride. coasterpedia.net· nagashima-onsen.co.jp
