The story of TRON Lightcycle Run
Magic Kingdom’s installation was developed from Vekoma’s motorbike coaster design, bringing the manufacturer’s forward-leaning riding position to Tomorrowland. It is a near twin of the earlier installation at Shanghai Disneyland. vekoma.com· coasterpedia.net
The Florida ride was built behind Space Mountain, where its track and great curved canopy became a new feature of the Tomorrowland skyline. Disney described the project as a substantial expansion of the park. disneyexperiences.com· disneyparksblog.com
In the months before opening, the canopy was assembled in carefully aligned sections and brought fully to life with its lighting system. The completed structure gives visitors and passing Tomorrowland guests a clear view of the motorbikes as they sweep through the open portion of the course. disneyparksblog.com· disneyparksblog.com
TRON Lightcycle Run opened at Magic Kingdom in 2023, adding a fast launched coaster to a park long associated with classic family rides and grand Tomorrowland landmarks. disneyexperiences.com· coasterpedia.net
