The story of Crazy Bird

Crazy Bird opened at Happy Valley Tianjin on 22 December 2013, joining the young park's collection of steel and wooden coasters in Dongli, Tianjin. coasterpedia.net· coasterpedia.net

S&S Worldwide supplied the ride as an El Loco, a compact steel design credited to designer Alan Schilke. Its chain lift, single car, and beyond-vertical first drop give the installation its distinctive character. coasterpedia.net· parkworld-online.com

The Tianjin installation followed the first El Loco, Steel Hawg at Indiana Beach, which introduced the model in 2008. Trade reports described the design as a way of fitting steep drops, tight turns, and inversions into a comparatively small footprint. parkworld-online.com· parkworld-online.com
