The story of Dragon Fyre
Dragon Fyre was among the four roller coasters ready when Canada's Wonderland welcomed its first visitors on May 23, 1981. It formed part of the park's opening-day collection and has remained in operation ever since. sixflags.com· uat.sixflags.com
Arrow Dynamics fashioned the ride in steel, using a chain lift to lead into two vertical loops, a turnaround hill, a double corkscrew and a concluding helix. The corkscrews turn counter-clockwise, an unusual touch in Arrow's looping catalogue. coasterpedia.net
For the 1997 season, the ride's name was changed from Dragon Fyre to Dragon Fire. In 2019, Canada's Wonderland restored the original spelling as part of a return to several historic attraction names in the Medieval Faire area. coasterpedia.net
The years have treated this veteran kindly. Canada's Wonderland reported that Dragon Fyre had carried 45.7 million riders by the end of the 2025 season, more than any other attraction in the park's history. sixflags.com
