The story of West Coast Racers

Six Flags Magic Mountain announced West Coast Racers as a new racing launch coaster, with Premier Rides responsible for its unusual twin-track design. The plan called for trains to travel through both sides of the course rather than remain on a single circuit. coaster101.com· latimes.com

Construction was held back by delays in the delivery of finished track. Once work gathered pace, the steel course took shape in the rear of the park, where its two lines could cross and run beside one another. coasterpedia.net· parkjourney.com

The completed ride sends its passengers through two laps, with launches, steeply banked turns, inversions, and close passages between the parallel tracks. The official park description calls attention to fourteen crossings and the ride’s passage through The Underground. sixflags.com· premier-rides.com

Passholder previews began before the public season, allowing the new coaster to enter service while the park prepared its formal opening. It remains an operating Premier Rides attraction at Six Flags Magic Mountain. coasterpedia.net· parkjourney.com
