The story of Recoil

Wonderla introduced Recoil at its Bangalore park in April 2016, presenting it as India’s first reverse-looping roller coaster. The opening formed part of a new group of attractions for the park. d79k57b9f2p6h.cloudfront.net· d22pimhl2qmbj7.cloudfront.net

Imported from the Netherlands, the coaster was built around two tall ramps. The train climbs one, passes through the cobra roll and loop, rises on the second, and then repeats the journey in reverse. d79k57b9f2p6h.cloudfront.net· d22pimhl2qmbj7.cloudfront.net

The arrangement is Vekoma’s Boomerang design: a chain lift, a shuttle course, and a return passage through the inversions after the train is caught and released backwards. coasterpedia.net

Before arriving at Wonderla Bangalore, the coaster operated in Doha as Thunderbolt at Aladdin’s Kingdom. Its train was later replaced with new rolling stock supplied by Sunkid Heege. coasterpedia.net
