The story of Family Inverted Coaster
Happy Valley Shanghai’s 2014 international park preview listed a new Bolliger & Mabillard inverted coaster among the season’s additions, placing the ride within the park’s continuing programme of expansion. amusementtoday.com
During the summer of 2014, the ride was presented as part of the park’s second-phase Ocean Adventures development. Contemporary visitor information described a family inverted coaster descending from seven storeys and moving through a figure-eight course. m.sh.bendibao.com
The completed attraction became Bolliger & Mabillard’s first family roller coaster. Its compact steel form, suspended trains and absence of inversions gave Happy Valley Shanghai a distinctly gentler member of the manufacturer’s celebrated portfolio. coasterpedia.net
