The story of Sand Serpent

Sand Serpent began its story at sister park Busch Gardens Williamsburg, where the same Mack Rides coaster ran under earlier names before being dismantled and sent south to Florida. coasterpedia.net· bgthistory.com

At Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the reassembled coaster opened in 2004 in the Timbuktu section as Cheetah Chase. Its compact steel design brought a smaller, more closely woven style of ride to the park's larger coaster collection. coasterpedia.net· bgthistory.com

The Florida coaster later took the name Sand Serpent and settled into the Pantopia section, where its single cars and tightly arranged course became part of the visitor's passage through the park. coasterpedia.net· buschgardens.com
