The traveller who knew Walibi Holland before 2019 would have found an older wooden ride standing here. In 2018 the park announced that Robin Hood would be rebuilt as a hybrid coaster with Rocky Mountain Construction, and on October 29 that year the new name, Untamed, was made public. walibi.nl

Through the winter and spring, the work was an exercise in careful reuse. Walibi described nine months of conversion, with the wooden foundation strengthened so that a new steel track could be set above it. Untamed opened on July 1, 2019. Walibi presented the ride as both Europe’s first hybrid coaster and, at its debut, the first hybrid coaster in the world with five inversions; a notable piece of new steel engineering set upon old timber bones. walibi.nl

Rocky Mountain Construction’s own listing places Untamed among its I-Box projects and records the essential measures: a 120-foot height, 57 mph speed, and five inversions.
