The story of Juvelen
Djurs Sommerland began in 1981 on flat land in Djursland, and the park’s own history describes a steady passage from outdoor activity park to a place of larger mechanical rides and carefully made themed areas. Juvelen belongs to that later, more ambitious chapter, when the summer park in Nimtofte had learned to dress its machinery in a full setting. djurssommerland.dk
In 2013, Mexicoland was enlarged by 12,000 square metres for Juvelen. The new ride gave the area a full kilometre of track, and the park identified it as Denmark’s longest roller coaster and Europe’s only double-launch coaster at the time. djurssommerland.dk· djurssommerland.dk
Intamin supplied the steel Family Launch Coaster, a forward-running machine with tyre-propelled launch and boost sections.
