The story of Battlestar Galactica: CYLON
Battlestar Galactica formed one of the principal attractions announced for Universal Studios Singapore’s Sci-Fi City, where Vekoma’s two tracks were arranged to run together as a dueling launch coaster. The park opened to the public in March 2010, bringing the great steel structure to Sentosa. media.corporate-ir.net· vekoma.com
The beginning was not without interruption. A week after the March 2010 opening, a seat became detached during routine testing, and the coaster remained closed for nine months while the matter was addressed. channelnewsasia.com
A second extended closure followed in July 2013. Resorts World Sentosa undertook a broad review of the ride and its systems, while the original four-seater vehicles were replaced by two-seater trains. straitstimes.com· channelnewsasia.com
On May 27, 2015, after twenty-two months away, the intertwined courses reopened. The structure remained substantially the same, but the new vehicles gave each passenger a clearer window seat over the Sentosa parkland. channelnewsasia.com· straitstimes.com
